 The school is named for Charles "Boss" Watson who served as the first mayor of Warner Robins.

On October 22, 2013, C.B. Watson Primary School held its campus dedication. The dedication was attended by Houston County Board of Education members, the superintendent, school administration, representatives for Robins Air Force Base, and other special guests. Teachers and students served as tour guides and provided entertainment. Mr. Sonny Watson, the grandson of C.B. Watson, gave remarks.
